With a decree by Bishop Paul Dudley, Holy Spirit Parish becomes a reality. Father James Andraschko is appointed founding pastor of the new faith community including 380 families.
After three years of celebrating Mass at Harvey Dunn School, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and the parish house, the first Mass is offered in the new church.
Holy Spirit School is constructed and opens for pre-school through third grade students.
Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament begins with 640 adorers.
The capital campaign to pay off the parish’s remaining debt is launched.
Since inception twenty-three years prior, the parish grows to approximately 1,604 families. The parish school has 418 preschool through sixth grade students and religious education students number 535 preschool through twelfth grade.
The Holy Spirit Parish family celebrates a quarter century.
Nearly every functional area of the Church was touched, including offices, restrooms, sacristy, and the lower-level parish hall. The goal was to strike a balance between traditional elements and the building’s more contemporary architecture.
In commemoration of the thirty-fifth anniversary of the establishment of Holy Spirit Church, current and former parish priests joined parishioners in The Mass of the Solemn Dedication of the Church. Immediately following Mass, a parish celebration was held.
