The Bishop Dudley Hospitality House is an ecumenical non-profit organization that provides 24/7 emergency shelter to those men, women, and families who are in need in the Sioux Empire. To sign up or for more information please visit


The St Francis House is an ecumenical ministry that provides transitional housing and programming to assist the homeless in reaching independence and stability. Volunteers will prepare or serve the evening meal from 6-7:30 p.m. or serve lunch from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Contact parish office 371-2320.

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic organization for men dedicated to a foundation of faith, family, and fraternity. Knights work together to enhance and aid the Church and community through seminarian assistance and other charitable endeavors. General meetings are the first Tuesday of the month. Catholic Daughters of the Americas is one of the largest international organizations of Catholic women working to strengthen our spiritual life through Christ, His Church and our Blessed Mother. We are Catholic lay and religious women, 18 years and older who love and support the Church and wish to participate in social and charitable activities.

We work to enhance spiritual life and promote evangelization; encourage vocations to the religious life; support Right to Life activities; Support victims of abuse, the poor and the homeless; Support the Holy Father, Bishops and Clergy; promote patriotism and activities and grow in leadership through local community projects. Holy Spirit Parish created this ministry to provide good quality clothing to those in need – children and adults. This ministry helps with sorting and shelving the clothing and gathering and delivering the items to the families. Contact Michelle and Travis at Email.


The Meals-On-Wheels Ministry delivers on Monday and Friday each week. Meal pick-up for our route is at Hope Lutheran Church on 24th and Cliff Ave at 10:45 a.m. Our route is in the Sycamore and Washington High School area. It typically takes about 1 hour from

the time of leaving home or work until the empty bags are dropped off back at Hope Lutheran Church.

Holy Spirit has delivered this route for 12 years and we ask that each person signing up take just 1 day each month.This is a great opportunity for parents to take their children along or for friends to get together each month, deliver the meals and have a lunch date afterward. This ministry provides meals for families going through challenging times or a family crisis of some kind. The volunteers prepare the meals and have them available for pick up at the church or delivered to families. Consideration is given for families with special dietary needs. The Bereavement Ministry serves as an extension of the community by reaching out in support and care to those experiencing loss and grief through letters, informational mailings on grief, and self-care. Contact parish office 371-2320.


The Visitation Ministry works to extend the love of God beyond church-based services through personal contact with parish members. Ministry members may serve identified people through personal visits, phone calls, meals, transportation to church or whatever is needed. Members may participate regularly or only occasionally depending on the needs of the parish. The Visitation Ministry welcomes anyone with a warm heart to join the committee. The health ministry at Holy Spirit aims to promote healthy lifestyles by empowering individuals and families to care for their spiritual, physical, emotional, and social health. Volunteers discuss their personal health challenges, help with Health Fairs and health screenings, create flyers and handouts, help with online communication, and gathering of data.

Healthcare professionals share their expertise with the parish and counsel, consult with the Health committee, help with BP screenings, Health Fairs, point of care testing, etc. Contact Kari at Email.
