Safe Environment Training

Quick Links

Diocesan Background Check
Misconduct Policy
Diocesan SE Training Web Site

All adults that are involved in programs with youth or vulnerable adults are required to meet the diocesan Safe Environment requirements. Holy Spirit Religious Education program requires any adults that would like to help with the program to complete the three requirements below.
It is a great privilege to work with youth and in order to protect our youth and keep them safe, these procedures have been put in to place. No adult will be allowed to help with a youth event until all three requirements have been met.
If you are interested in helping, you can begin these at any time and turn them in to Amy.

Step One

- Background Check
Please print, fill out, and turn in the form above. Background checks are done every six years.

Step Two

- Misconduct Policy
These are good forever. Please read to policy, fill out page 12 and turn it in.

Step Three

- Safe Environment Training
This link will lead you to the diocesan website to complete an online training course

If you took the on-line training last year:

and you want to go on-line this year, you must take the new “Professional Behaviors & Boundaries” course. If you repeat the “Recognizing Child Abuse” course, the program will not provide the required completion certificate. Questions? Please Contact Amy.

If it is your first time:

you will create a user name and password for yourself. Before you enter, please read ALL the instructions on the page. You must take the “Recognizing Child Abuse” Course.

If you took the on-line training last year:

you must login. (If you forgot your user ID or password, you can use the live help option.) You must take the new “Professional Behaviors & Boundaries,” course.
There is a live ‘help’ option, if you need assistance during the training. When you have successfully completed the training, please submit a copy of your certificate to the Parish Office! If you do not have access to a computer, contact Amy, Mark or Val.

Other Option

As an alternative to the On-line training, we will also be offering the DVD training, “Called to Protect” Sunday, October 4th 10-11am and 12:30-1:30pm in the Fireside Room

For the Safe Environment Training, fill out the information and Sign up as a volunteer for Holy Spirit Parish. If you have done SE Training before, you can pull a certificate from the site. The religious education  program is requiring all training to be done online, unless written proof of the class is sent to Amy at Holy Spirit.  The online training is easiest to track for the parish.

All questions regarding training and the safe environment requirements can be emailed to Amy at anightingale@qwestoffice.net
