Perpetual Adoration

Perpetual Adoration

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration began at Holy Spirit Parish at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 22, 2002 with the blessing and dedication of the new Adoration Chapel.

On November 27, 2002 the specially designed altar and two side altars were installed in the Chapel. They are made from quarter-sawn maple with inlaid banding of ebony. They were designed by Jurek Jakowicz of our parish, as were the stained glass windows and the crucifix that are in the chapel. The main altar holds the Monstrance and two candles and the two side altars hold the tabernacle and the statue of the Madonna of the Streets. We were blest to have all the furniture, altars, stained glass windows, crucifix and Madonna donated.

Would you like to spend one hour a week with the Lord? Perpetual Adoration means someone is praying in front of the exposed Blessed Sacrament 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You may share your time with a friend by alternating weeks, or be a substitute when someone cannot be at their scheduled time. The hour you spend with Jesus can be spent anyway you wish: reading the Bible, praying the Rosary, with your favorite prayer book, or speaking to Jesus heart-to-heart. You may be so tired or troubled or worn out, that you may just want to sit, and relax, and enjoy the peace that comes from simply being with the One who loves you the most, Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
